Newly launched Volvo’s XC60 at home among iconic art at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

  • Volvo XC60 took pride of place among eye-catching sculptures
  • XC60 vehicles formed part of Volvo dealership Clive Brook’s ride & drive event
  • The event saw more than 100 drivers behind the wheel of the new SUV
  • The newly launched eye-catching Volvo XC60 was right at home among the iconic art at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park where local dealer Clive Brook hosted its ride and drive event.

With dealerships in Bradford and Huddersfield, Clive Brook Volvo enabled 100 local people to experience driving behind the wheel of the new Volvo SUV, which arrived in the UK in the summer.

Held earlier this month (6th October), the ride and drive event saw customers and would-be buyers put the vehicle through its paces against the backdrop of the open-air gallery’s picturesque 500-acre setting in West Bretton.

The day included the opportunity to ‘get to know’ the vehicle better with presentations and Q&A sessions which highlighted the vehicle’s cutting-edge technology and advanced safety features including the ground-breaking City Safety system. The system applies automatic emergency braking when a pedestrian, cyclist or large animal is detected and includes steer assist which helps avoid or limit the severity of collisions at low speeds by assisting with steering such as when the motorist swerves to miss an obstacle.

Managing director Clive Brook commented: “We think the new XC60 is a design icon in itself so the stunning Yorkshire Sculpture Park provided the perfect location to drive the car for the first time. Design is integral to every car Volvo makes and we think the XC60 turned just as many heads as the works of art themselves.

“It was a great day out for our customers and those who are considering the XC60 as their next car. The venue is fabulous with so much to see and provided the perfect opportunity to experience the vehicle in a relaxing and informal environment.”

The XC60 SUV, which has already been crowned ‘Best Premium SUV’ at the Auto Express Awards having been described by the judges as ‘super-stylish’, includes leather-faced upholstery, a 9-inch touch screen control system, LED headlights with active high beam, two-zone climate control with 'CleanZone' air-filtration system, heated front seats, a powered tailgate and 18-inch alloy wheels.
