• Clive Brook Volvo sponsor local charity, Amelie’s Big World
• Headline sponsors for ‘It’s a Knockout’ themed event on Sunday 28th June
• Clive Brook team raised £1,465 for Elland-based Amelie and her fund
West Yorkshire-based dealer group Clive Brook Volvo is supporting a local fund to help raise money for a seven-year-old girl named Amelie living with Russell Silver Syndrome.
On Sunday 28th June, 10 members of the Clive Brook Volvo team took part in a ‘It’s a Knockout’ themed fundraising event to help support the Amelie’s Big World fund, which raises money to support Amelie and her ongoing medical needs, as well as creating awareness for small people living in a big world.
Clive Brook, with Volvo dealerships based in Bradford and Huddersfield, was one of an 18-strong team of businesses supporting the ‘It’s a Knockout’ challenge, helping to provide stalls, food and drink, fairground rides and an inflatable assault course.
Managing director, Clive Brook, commented: “As a local business, it’s important for us to be able to give something back and after meeting Amelie, we wanted to support her fund so she can continue to experience every opportunity other child her age can. The Clive Brook team that took part in ‘It’s a Knockout’ had such a fantastic day and we managed to raise a huge £1,465 toward the overall £13,631 raised for Amelie’s fund, making it an amazing achievement for all involved”.
Amelie lives with her mum, dad and two elder sisters in Elland, West Yorkshire. In January 2010, Amelie was diagnosed with a form of Primordial Dwarfism, Russell Silver Syndrome, after years of various hospital visits, operations, tests and x-rays.
Amelie’s Mum, Anne, has set up a dedicated support website for those who would like to see how Amelie is getting on, to find out about upcoming fundraising events and how they can support them in Amelie’s journey.
