Clive Brook Reflects on 2020

During 2020 we focused our attentions on adapting our business to keep you safe whilst allowing you to continue to purchase a new or used Volvo online and to have your Volvo serviced with Yorkshire's Volvo experts. As a privately owned business we were able to act quickly and effectively, and all the team worked hard to ensure a smooth transition during lockdowns.

Despite an incredibly challenging year, 2020 proved to be our most successful. Volvo Cars UK also reported the strongest second-half sales numbers in the company's history in 2020. This is an amazing achievement and something we are incredibly proud of. Having a premium and progressive line up of award-winning cars plus the fast-growing demand for our electrified models drove many people to choose Volvo as their next car.

On the subject of award-winning, it is hard to believe that it's more than three years since the launch of Volvo UK's best-selling model, the XC40. This premium compact SUV has recently been honoured as the Family SUV of the Year in the What Car? Car of the Year Awards for the third time. It has also won the title of Company Car Today CCT100 Awards. This week (w/c 8th February) sees the arrival of the new XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, Volvo's first full electric Volvo, which you can now pre book a test drive post lockdown. So, despite all the challenges that we continue to face, we have a great deal to celebrate.
