Bold and beautiful design
A sleek, aerodynamic silhouette and flowing contours characterise the new Volvo S60, expressing motion from every angle. The front end features a distinctive lighting design, with a T-shaped LED signature making the model recognisable both day and night.
Meanwhile, a bold shoulder line conveys a sense of athleticism and the wide windscreen ensures you have unrivalled visibility of the road ahead. With a palette of sophisticated paint colours to choose from too, the S60 can be customised to reflect your personal style.
A luxurious interior
Step inside and you’ll be welcomed by a sumptuous, spacious cabin. The elegance of the S60’s interior continues through the design of the cockpit, which features harmonious lines and an ergonomic layout that ensures you’re always in control.
High-quality materials and careful finishes add to the feeling of luxury, while there’s space to seat five in the utmost comfort. Selected trims include thoughtful touches such as heated front and outer rear seats, keeping you cosy on cold days.
The Volvo S60 is a pleasure to drive too, offering refinement, agility and balance that befits its sophisticated nature. There’s a choice of conventional fuel and plug-in hybrid engines, the latter of which delivers all the power you need while significantly reducing emissions. Switch to all-electric mode and there’s plenty of range for the daily commute. When heading further afield, the engine provides support, and you’ll enjoy impressive efficiency.
In addition, three selectable drive modes give you the opportunity to optimise comfort, economy or performance depending on the circumstances and your preferences. Whichever you pick, you’ll enjoy dynamic handling and a smooth ride.
Innovative Technology and safety
Volvo is synonymous with safety, and the new S60 is no different. Protecting each journey as standard are features such as stability control, ABS and a host of airbags, while innovations such as City Safety help you to avoid potential hazards. Radar and camera technology identifies cyclists, pedestrians and even large animals, warning you of their presence and applying the brakes if you don’t react in time.
Keeping you connected on board, meanwhile, is Volvo’s portrait-oriented touchscreen, which gives you access to audio, communication functions and more. It’s easy to operate, even with gloves on, and makes controlling infotainment simple and intuitive.

Design wise the Volvo S60 sticks faithfully to the winning formula Volvo has established over the last three years, but it isn’t quite a shrunken S90, with its much shorter overhangs, lipped bootlid and racy standard bodykit hinting that this is a car Volvo is aiming squarely at people who want to drive.
The dashboard layout is neat, the steering wheel is wonderfully plush and trimmed with soft leather, the metals and plastics are all top quality and it all centres around a slick and sharp looking 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen.
"Looks sharp inside and out, Strong on quality" - Auto Trader
The S60 is Volvo’s answer to popular compact executive saloons like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class, and differentiates itself from the rest with its cool, individual style and its plentiful technology, not to mention Volvo’s impressive reputation for safety. Why Buy? Because you want your executive car to be a little bit different to the ones everyone else drives, and you want it to have its own style and identity. Also because you value quality, technology and generous equipment, along with the peace of mind that you’re probably driving one of the safest cars on the road.
In this class it’s fresh and exciting – and, let’s face it, instantly desirable to behold – but the third-generation S60 nevertheless feels familiar. Audi, BMW and Mercedes could all learn a thing or two from Volvo about fusing comfort with control. Design, too.
"Everything we've come to love about new-age Volvos in a smaller size" - Top Gear
This S60 is the Swedes’ seventh all-new car since 2014, though the cynical among you might suggest such turnover is easy when all your cars look the same. Indeed, if you’re not sold on the way the styling of the XC90 (or V90, or S90, or XC60…), you won’t be keen on this. We happen to think it looks flipping fantastic – clean and classy without being boring, in a world where the BMW 3 Series manages the opposing trick of being fussy yet dull. It’s a cracking looking car, the S60, and it does everything pretty well: it drives sharply given its FWD core, it’s comfy and cosseting inside, and there’s a shedload of tech on board.
